![]() How about we fall?A Poem by BeatricePortinari.![]() Ugh. My writer's block is raging and I really don't like this... But I guess I'm posting it anyway.![]() If you’re ever looking for a reason not to fall Throw your glance up to the sky And look at her…. High above them all Because all I can tell you If these loose lips will sink our ship Baby, I can’t promise we’ll make it to shore. The end of our world will come Only, only my love, when we believe such a thing To exist in a life of colors and song. So I’ve got blue eyes, deep like your voice Against my straining ear And you’ve got this thing, darling, And you’ve always had it… It’s called a little bit of Southern charm So, now, don’t hesitate. Do something ugly or be something rude. Unless you want me to fall for you Today, because I promise of you say the words I will. There’s a pause now, because you can’t let me off easy Are you going to tell some lies, Or will I see the truth in those eyes? My heart will beat loud enough for you to hear You lips will find their way to my ear and whisper… Whispers from you will sing songs to me today. Can we just pretend we haven’t been here before? My hands will wring themselves in my lap No. No we can’t. I love you. © 2011 BeatricePortinari.Author's Note
