Never Going Back

A poem about my Ex Best Friend (we put each other through so much s**t, that we just got tired of it)

Damn, Its been a while

A long time since I've written

Written anything about you.

 

Where do I start?

From the very start

I know I should, But that won't change a thing.

 

It won't change where we stand now

Everything we've spoken to one another

Either good or bad

We've felt in the moment.

 

Both gazing at another

Waiting, but for what?

Waiting for another chance?

A chance at what?

Pain?, Broken heart?, or Misery?

 

All the fights

All the shouts and endless tears

All the painful scars

On our hearts will be a reminder for both of us

How everything we once knew

Is gone.

 

Everything we shared, and loved

Is now nothing.

 

Why do I expect you to care?

When I know you never will.

 

We never knew what we'd do

Or what we were ever doing.

 

How to react, or even how to protect

One another.

 

All those words we spoke

Never will mean anything to you

Or to me.

 

Anger always swallowed my heart

Yet, I knew Goodbye was your

Famous word.

 

Now we stand both back to back

With nothing in our hearts anymore.

 

Our footsteps just cross another road

Our words filled with hate and anger

Of one another.

 

So, In the end

Here we are

Nothing, again.

 

Just this time

We will never go back.

 

Because we have nothing to go back to

Anymore.

 

So, go ahead and shout

Go ahead and scream at me

But, It won't faze me anymore.

 

You said Goodbye too many times

So have I.

 

And this time

We actually mean it.
