Burns

Burns

A Poem by BrokenGirl

Swallow these emotions that cloud your head

Just another failure that is waiting to happen

You trace over the cuts that cover your body

This feeling is all to familiar to her.

Not again

Not the blade again

Not the hurt again

She prays for just one more moment for you to call

Just to hear your voice will calm this brokenness

She waits

Nothing but silence

She crawls into the closet and screams

About to leave Earth

Her safe place awaits her

A small serenity

Sleeping the noise of emotions

Soft skin meets the flame

Burns cover her soon

She smiles as the pain continues as she hides the lighter

One more success

She cuddles into her soft place of numbness and pain

Don't be afraid to explore your word choice, it would make this poem much more enticing if the variety of words was used or some words where rephrased and used differently. Good write, though.
