Second ChancesA Poem by BrokenGirlI don't even know o.o
The pulsing sound of blood rushes through her veins.
Looking to the doctor's for answers. Lost. She screams. The needles find ways back into her arms. Tears flow from her eyes. The words come running back into her mind. Suddenly, darkness surrounds her. Low beeps fill her ears. The monitor sounds Doctor's rush in. Odds pressed against her. Life thrown out on a single heart rate line. She can't open her eyes, but she hears the men. "She won't make it past tonight." "Never." She feels her chest heave. Her desire to live, change and see the world in a new light fills her soul. Another IV is hooked up. The doctors slowly and silently exit. A calmness settles in the room. Her eyes open. Her fingers dance along the hospital bed sheets. Hazel eyes meet the starry night just beyond the window glass. Words escape from her lips. Breathing becomes easier as her mind eases. Hours passing by seem like minutes. The early sun rises, making her eyes shine, matching the sun's gaze. A heart changed by the almost meet with death, She rises from the hospital bed. And walks to her new life. © 2012 BrokenGirlReviews
