Anthem of a Love Worth Fighting For

Anthem of a Love Worth Fighting For

A Poem by Broken Serenity
"

A piece about the uncertainty of your feelings being returned. Even if you're unsure, and even if all the odds are against it, you know that you will continue to seek that knowledge out.

"
Sometimes I wonder if you're aware
That I'm unsure if you actually care
That sometimes at your hand I stare
Wondering, "If I grabbed that, his heart would he share?"

I'm never quite sure of where I stand
Reality slips through my fingers like sand
Somehow I'm drowning, dry on land
My heart made of over-extended elastic bands.

If you knew how I felt, would it tear us apart
The marching band inside of my heart
If your life is a bakery am I a three day old tart
Are your affections simply a misaimed dart

Barely breathing I lay among
The unheard lyrics to our song
Though the journey may be long
The anthem of a love worth fighting for can never be wrong
