Leave Me To My Writing

Leave Me To My Writing

A Poem by Broken.

So many questions,

I only mean well.

Bloodhounds do the work,

to find the right words.

If only I had a sense like that,

so the lost words

wouldn't haunt my dreams.

I ask for inspiration,

but life gives me pain.

Although what I really need,

is change.

Something to change,

the way I see things.

To help me build my esteem.

But all I ever find,

is flaws so it seems.

I'm all right,

with how I am,

but it shows only to fool.

I can't ever show,

how I really feel,

so I write it out loud,

for the world to see.

Many people have told me,

what to believe,

but it never changes anything,

so leave me to my writing please.

Your poem harkens to the fact that I would prefer to write than to try to verbalize anything that's complicated or difficult between humans. Writing can be misunderstood just as often as speaking, but I'm better at it, so I have a better chance at trying to make myself understood. But in the end, just as in your poem, the futility of being understood just shoves me toward my writing and wanting to be left alone to it (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
