Quite Possibly

Quite Possibly

A Poem by Broken.

Maybe I'll just cry
Cry until my heart blows out

Maybe I'll just sing
Sing a cheerful song that inflates balloons

Maybe I'll just mope
Using my covers as shields, trying to keep reality at bay

Maybe I'll just listen
Listen to those old nursery rhymes

Maybe I'll just hurt
Hurt to a pointless cause

Maybe I'll just swing
Swing until I can fly away

Maybe I'll just ramble
Unconsciously until my mouth feels like cotton

Maybe I'll just wait
Hold off on the childish games I covet so much, just for you

Maybe not.

 I will run
Run to see how far I can go
until I have to stop

I like the imagery here. I like the way you present your choices and your use of color for each, then then ending clinches it all. I like the break of Maybe Not...then the strong finish. Wonderful!

I love this. It builds and builds, until in my minds eye, I can see a very timid average girl, and then with the last stanza it is all blown away.

I know the feeling of wanting to run until you have to stop, and I adore the way you built up to it. With all of the uncertainties and feelings that become mingled in your mind before you decide that running might be a good idea.

Very creative! I believe all of us can relate to this because we've all felt parts of this.

Hehe, I like Nina's comment down there.
And I have to agree that it's okay to feel like this, and you have friends who will help you pull through.
:)

Oh and what's the word on initiation??
