A Poem by Hidden Nightmares

At school, even though she's broken in so many places.
She manages not to fall apart.
At school, she wears her smile like a mask.
So that no one can see her broken, bleeding heart.
At school, she's always laughing but it's fake.
It just helps her fight back the tears.
At school, she acts brave.
But it's because she's spent her life living in fear.

.                    .                     .

But when she gets home, she'll cry.
Because she can no longer hold it inside.
When she gets home, she'll want to run.
But she knows there's nowhere to hide.
When she gets home, she'll wait.
For the heartbreaking screams and shouts.
When she gets home, she'll end it.
Because she knows its her only way out.
