Shadows

"

A young Child (The narrator) is trying to sleep, but his wild imagination is keeping him awake and is playing games on his mind.

"

I lay my head beneath my pillow at night,

To dare not see the shadows of fright.

Dragons in the sky,

through the windows ghouls say hi.

moonlights howl of horror,

a monster looking through the door.

My eyes grew wide with ol' sheer terror,

I must admit, these monsters are clever.

Teasing, taunting, mocking me!

I lift my head so i can see:

So i can see all around,

Nothing but the slightest sound.

So i twist and turn my head,

Nothing here but me in bed.

Minutes later i lift again,

Because now is now, and that was then.

There's but one light in the room,

To fight of the impediments of doom.

Shining, hopeful,full of light,

i guess, now, i can sleep tonight.

Brody Jack Jennings
This is one of my first poems, created when I was the young, scared child in the story. It's a direct copy from the original writing so the grammar usage may be off and even mediocre.
