Forever Alone

Forever Alone

A Poem by BrockGirl

Kids are all grown and on their way out,
Did what I could but still have some doubt
Run the same circles, over and over again,
Back at the beginning of the race I just ran.
Nothing in common with all my old friends,
Just waiting around now to see how it ends.
Sitting, and waiting and wanting to see
What exactly my purpose could possibly be
The Days they get longer and time slips away,
All the color in life starts melting to grey.
Anger and tears are now setting the tone,
As I push them away -I am Forever alone.

A tragic feeling no doubt, once the nest has been abandoned (I think the word fits) time alone with your self and mind can become quite daunting; thus, what do you do? You sit down and write. Why? It gives you a place to channel that emotion, its therapeutic, and what better way to pass on the knowledge you've gathered over the years.

Thank you for your comment
Been there..... done that.... ( married 3 times)

Then I had grandkids......

One of them loves poetry..... who would have guessed.

Maybe it's time to be a teacher to the new ones that don't really know it all.

Trace.
