Isolated

Isolated

A Poem by Brittney

Stop
Do you see me?
I'm here
Alone
Isolated
Four walls
Intimidating
Closing in
Slowly

Wait
Are you listening?
The tick
Tock
Is frightening
Time
Is disintegrating
Only
Constantly

Pause
Can you feel it?
The ambiance
Is shifting
Chills
Overcome skin
I'm lonely
Waiting..
Waiting..

Stop.
Stop!
Stop!!!
Can you see me?

I think
I'm
Disappearing

That's a deep write! It painted a picture in my mind happen a few years ago,I was an alcoholic. I just quit drinking at the time for three weeks due to I was sick,I figured id take advantage and stay clear of everyone kinda let myself work it all out,But it didn't happen that way,my so called inner circle of friends called on me to go out with them,I was like no im sick don't feel that great plus just don't want to get out cause I just stop drinking,OHHH but were your friends we never let anything happen to you! I went the first hour seem fine, and after that hour I felt those walls closing in and I lost it bad. There were many people there and very loud, but when all that happen the voices I heard came one by one! I just snapped bad had to have a drink. That so called inner circle didn't even know! That wasn't a fun feeling. Yeah I been there thank God I don't see or live that way anymore. Thanks for sharing Brittney:)

Words that paint pictures are precious. Art is one thing to the creator and another to the audience. This paints a very vivid picture that can take a reader to a place and time. I picture someone lying in bed alone at night several stories up in an apartment building in a busy city with all of the commotion just outside the window.
