SunsetA Poem by Brittany BosticSunset If I could stay awake every single day forever, I would do it without thinking twice. I would never close my eyes again. It would be a privilege to see every second of every day. Sunsets. The bright white color that protrudes through the back of a white cloud, The pink and orange that stay just against the horizon, They way you can watch it until the very last second, When everything finally disappears into the night air. The way trees break the red of the sky, The way they look black during twilight, The sun streaming into the open blue sky, Looking like its welcoming someone home, Because somewhere somehow it is. Pictures could never do it justice, They could never be pretty enough for what you see in person, When you see a sunset like that you feel it, You feel nothing could ever be more beautiful, Nothing could ever be more simplistic. It’s all because of the earth. Have you ever seen the symmetry of the universe before? This is exactly the feeling you are supposed to get, It’s so simple all you have to do is look, Anyone can see a sunset and see how perfect it is. Sunsets are gold. They’re pure because no one can change them, They are something that every person can only stand by and watch, They are for the pleasure and enjoyment of the people, They are science, They are earth, They are life. Sunsets. © 2015 Brittany BosticReviews
