Breath

Breath

A Poem by Britt

You took away my breath once,
And I was surprised by that for
no one takes away my breath.

We lived a life-time in numbered days,
You told me things you told no other and
I breathed you everyday.

You were in my walk,
The way I carried myself you became
a part of me and then

We parted.

------------

You took away my breath twice,
And I was surprised by that for
the years had taken their toll.

Still you held my brittle hand,
Kissed my broken lips and
I breathed you once again.

You are in my walk,
The way I carry myself you have become
a part of me and I pray

We do not part again.

A beautifully sad poem about the one you love. The second half is better than the first, but the momentum is built up well. I sense a decaying love in the last couple verses. Good job, British Lady!

Oh my. The ending was quite heartbreaking, I loved it though. Nicely done
