Mechanical Advantage

Mechanical Advantage

A Poem by Brittany

Bones pull down with

the weight of gravity- and intervals

of atrophy leave us rusty

knuckled, bent backed, and

sallow cheeked

Eyes grow dim and lose sight

of that sparkle only innocence and

tenderness can bring

The things we build

succeed us, because

flesh is always a reminder of mortality

well depicted, poetic, although, the mechanical advantage is only surface deep.
Nice poem.

Love it, love it, love it so much!

So true, it makes so much sense to me, every single word!

Glad you added me. I'm enjoying stalking your poems and stories. Very vivid in a more mentally stimulating way as much as a physical imagery. Me likie.

So true and so beautiful, this is as much life as a whole as it is an individual instance.

I felt the weight of this portrayal of a relationship that is tired and spent, its sparkle gone and its movement now groaning... A perceptive and telling write, sad but true...
