Bitter Fruits

Bitter Fruits

A Poem by Brittany

Is this what love feels like; empty hands and a tortured heart? Do you see me, am I even here? Is this what love is; the provacation of hope ending always in fruitless disapointment? Crashing down over an agonized soul that drips with bitter longing... Is this what love means; desperately clinging to an idea that refuses to manifest into reality? Maybe because it cannot, or maybe because it simply won't. Is this what love does; reduces us to the graceless begging of one waiting so helplessly to be heard? Is this love that aches in the darkest reaches of my heart? Is this love that drowns what's left of an already tired soul? Is this love, or love no more?

If I could reach through this portal, and wrap my arms around you, I would. Let the tears flow and let you release all those insecure, wondering thoughts onto me. I would carry you so your tired body could take that well deserved rest your mind has wore on you.
