The Keeper

The Keeper

A Poem by Brittany

Your eyes rain.

Perfectly rounded drops of sorrow,

Are caught within my soul.

Gathered, and kept…

Within a heart of hearts.

For every drop,

Every last bit of tear,

Is a lost hope…

A broken dream.

But what is lost can be returned.

And what is broken,

May be mended.

So, all is kept,

Within this heart of hearts,

Until the day you are redeemed.

Returned that which was given
Not in a life but the next
This is the mystery

My companion befriended a tortured soul
In a previous life dost I know
The water fall of possibilities does bestow

Mostly never known in one life
Yet oft given in the next
For to give is not to receive to oneself

The next generation are benefactors of our good deeds
You better others for such seeds are reaped long after you are gone
The recipients subconsciously know such goodness if that of others

If we only knew that the sowers of goodness are the result of friendships
of previous lives lived through hardship and struggle
Then more people would seek to aid the down trodden
Fate, as it is seems, loves to swing the down trodden sword more than good deed

So goes cyclic hardships from previous lives
More run for self instead of stopping and befriending those in need
Fate smiles because it wins more oft than losses in spreading the disease of pain.
