I Am

 

I am a crisp leaf blowing on a gentle breeze.

Restless in pursuit of life.

Free and easy I glide on the winds of time,

Seeking knowledge of love and light.

My soul burns with desire…

Heart bursting with love like fire.

Wild hair framing a face lined with life,

Bare feet stained with the dirt of the world,

Stormy skies reflected in eyes open wide.

Always running, searching for something

Ideas and hints, but never knowing.

I am the moon hidden on a cloudy night,

A vague outline of what lies inside.

I am a hurricane of thoughts running wild.

A river of emotion running deep, unbridled.

I am the sum of all that I have looked on,

Scarred, yet healed, I am beautifully broken.

Within me the universe dwells and thrives

I am human, I am light.
