Perfect ImperfectionA Poem by Brittany LavyThere are so many people out there who try to be someone they're not. Trying to please everyone. This is poem to express the topic of perfection.
Clouds lingering above the newly cleared sky, Threatening the world with the rain that may fall. Looking up to see the darkened clouds pass by, Seeing things for what they truly are.
The world isn't a perfect place, In fact, it's quite imperfect. People look at perfection as a race, That is a cause, now what is the effect?
Everyone has a secret, Everyone hides them from their peers. Everyone has a secret they need to admit, But no one does, Because of all the fear.
People try to be someone they aren't, Mainly so the don't stick out. But what's wrong with that, Whats wrong with being a little loud.
Everyone catagorizes themselves, Whether they know it or not. They don't want to stick out, To be put on the spot.
Pretending isn't the answer to the problem, In fact, Is that even the problem? The problem is perfection, Imperfection is perfection. © 2011 Brittany Lavy |
