Rebellion in the Garden

Rebellion in the Garden

A Chapter by Britt Nicole
"

I know 100% that NONE of this is true. The plot in this story is based SUPER loosely on the Bible. I twisted it to make the plot. I feel bad, but it's the only way to describe Lilith.

"

"Daddy, may we play in the water today?" Lily asked. Her long black hair swinging against her posterior as she ran up to him.

Adam looked over at her and smiled. He nodded. She grabbed his hand and started running towards the water. He knew Eve would join them soon, she was merely busy.

Lily raced through the field, dragging her father with her. Just over the hill, rocks protruded from the ground at uneven angles. One stuck out over a lake, and Lily ran right towards it. She released her father's hand and gripped her toes against the boulder and pushed off. Her arms reached up and she slid into the water, not making a splash. Head bobbing out of the water, she smiled. She floated on her back and kicked, sending water flying up in shards.

Adam laughed as his daughter tried climb out, her skinny body struggling to get up. The man walked over and held out his hand, helping her up.

She gripped her hand around her father's and let him pull her out of the water. Her black hair was dripping wet and her white teeth shined through her smile. Black eyes glistening as she laughed, dancing with her father. They jumped around in no certain pattern, laughing and smiling. Everyday was like this. They always smiled, and always laughed. They never seemed to have a reason to laugh, but then again they had every reason.

Suddenly, Lily's eyes took on a serious glint as she stared at her father. Adam looked over at a lion as it flashed a smile and scampered off. Lily grabbed her father's hand and he turned to her, a curious sparkle in his gaze. She placed a hand on his waist, and Adam felt a strange cold move across his skin.

"Lily?" He questioned, backing away from her. This felt...different to him. He didn't know what he was feeling, but it wasn't in his vocabulary to describe it.

"Yes, daddy?" She smiled, cocking her head ever so slightly. Her legs pushed her closer to her father and she wrapped her arms around him. Pressing her body against her father's, she started to kiss his neck. Adam smiled uneasily, the cold feeling was spreading farther around his body.

He heard Eve's laughs aproaching, and Lily swiftly released her father. Adam felt the cold dissipating and he relaxed. Eve swung around the corner, a bird perched on her head, and her smile got brighter as she saw her family.

That smile was erased when a loud noise erupted from the sky. They all three looked up, and the heavens opened up. God spoke to them, his voice covering the Garden of Eden like a blanket.

He ordered Lily to step away from Adam, and she did just that. Lily was told to leave the Garden, and Adam and Eve could only stare.

They looked at Lily with a smile, wishing her good luck. She gaped at them. Anger rushed through her as she screamed at the sky.

"This isn't fair! I've done nothing wrong!" Lily protested.

Something clicked in Adam's mind. Wrong. That's what he was feeling when Lily touched him. He felt wrong.

Instantly he started to realize maybe his daughter wasn't the sweet innocent angel he thought her to be.

Two angels appeared and gently grabbed Lily's arms. It wasn't so gentle, though, when she started kicking and screaming.

Adam smiled at Eve as he felt relief. The cold feeling was gone. He didn't believe it would come back. In the corner of his eye, though, he saw a snake walking across a branch, and the cold feeling tickled the back of his neck. It went away, though, and he forgot about it.
