To Infinity and Beyond

To Infinity and Beyond

A Poem by Britt Nicole
"

This poem is for my friend Baylea, who inspired me to write this for a poetry slam I did at school. I got second place! My other friend won first, but that was expected. :)

"
They say hold onto friendship
But for me that's not the case
I just don't feel the need to keep
Something you can't erase

They say what will happen
Is that one day it'll be gone
But I don't believe that
Not if you just hold on

Now I'm not sure what I would do
Without you by my side
But you are all I have
That I can decide

It's hard to describe
This thing that we share
Especially since there's nothing else
That could ever compare

Has it ever occured to you
That we are practically one?
Because without you, there is no me
It just can't be done

We are like an old married couple
Always laughing and fighting
But that's why I'm doing this
That's why it's exciting

You make me laugh
And the laughing never ends
But I still love your serious side
It means we're still friends.

"To infinity, and beyond"
Our little rings say
Because forever and ever
Our friendship will stay

So you are the "U" and I am the "S"
For eternity that will be
'Cause together we make "US"
Just you, and me.

The second verse third and fourth bars were spectacular to me !!! I didn't see any grammar errors so I guess you didn't have any and I'm impressed!!!
