Why I love my jobA Poem by TheCreativeNerd
My favorite shift is 10am-5pm,
Starting in the morning is always the best. And at the end of the shift I get to go hom, Eat dinner, And relax. I might even add in a little bit of homework before I go to bed. 1pm-9:30 pm, is okay shift. I personally can't get anything done before I go into work. And once I am done with that shift I go straight to bed. I LOVE MY JOB, I LOVE THE PEOPLE I work with, And I get discounts off all art supplies. A long day at work, Can either be busy or extremely slow. Ding-ding, Someone had entered, the heaven for artists, The candy story for artists, You never know how much they all buy, Or if they are going to buy anything. "Wecloming to Aaron brothers," I'd say each time someone comes in. And if they are walking slowly, Looking like they are trying to figure things out, "Do you need help with anything?" "Just looking," "no thanks," or "yes" are their response. Here we have many great customers And some are men and rude. But I will always love working there. I love to run into someone I know And helping others find what they need. I work at the customer counter, too. Designing the perfect combination Of mats, fillets and frames. Watching the customers faces, As they get excited Over the design made just for them. It takes about 10 minutes to an hour Depending on the customers wants. But it is alright with us As long as they are happy. At the end of helming either customers, Custom framing, Art supplies, Or already made frames, I will check them out at the cash register Typing in their numbers, Scanning in their items Packing them into bags (if they want them) And telling them their total cost. They usually pay with card But many still pay with cash, And few pay with checks. Depending on this, I have them sign the receipt. And at the end I say "have Great day," or "a great night" "Thanks for coming to Aaron brothers!" And they respond back And I hear the bell ding-ding As they leave. When the store is dead slow or a lot of workers are working, And we have a lot of frames in the back Needing to be put together. I go help Ron, our main framer, Taping on the paper backing, Placing on the bump-on to the correct Corners, Screwing in the D-rings or others, And tying on the wire. Placing our sticker on the back, And finally cutting 2 cardboard pieces to the right size And wrapping them up. Once I have a nice stack of them finished, I carry them over to the custom counter Call them to tell them their frames are done. I get all excited when I see a frame I helped design. And I am happy when the costomer Remembers me and loves how it turned out ThIS IS WHY I LOVE MY JOB © 2018 TheCreativeNerdAuthor's Note
