3..2..1..snap

A Poem by Brittney Lea
"

The truth about photography

"
I sit on the curve
Clinching the neck of my lens
The leather strap clings to my neck
The light is perfect

I lift up the black delicate machine
I focus the view
Close one eye
Wait and count down

3..2..1.. snap
This moment is captured
Successfully hidden in a hard drive
This is forever mine to hold in my hand

"A picture is worth a thousand words"
No they are wrong.
A photo has nothing to do with words or sentences
It's emotion, empathy

A picture is a secret within a secret
The more you think it's telling you,
The less you truly know
3..2..1.. snap
