A soft silence

A soft silence

A Poem by Briscottin
"

This poem was inspired by my thoughts of walking through my local park, where human life ceases to exist for very small moments leaving silence behind.

"
It's hanging in the wind
A soft silence
Dancing around the trees and through the leaves
You would dare to breathe
With the fear of shattering the peace
Tensing every muscle, trying to absorb as much of this tranquility as possible
This soft silence
Allows your mind and soul to sing
To appreciate the world without the noise that the human race brings
Silence within nature opens up another side to you
You want to burst from your fleshy bonds
To allow yourself to glide with the wind
To feel the gentle breeze kissing your cheeks
You wish for this moment to last an eternity
But alas, a dog walker drifts into your space
Crunching the autumn leaves that have fallen
Coughing slightly because of a growing cold
Snapping back to reality, you silently thank the earth for sharing this sacred moment with you
A moment of pure bliss
Where nothing else seemed to exist
Where a whole universe had been briefly forgotten
Surrounded by a natural masterpiece.

Beautiful sensitive writing. I am a lover of silence as well and could relate deeply to what you say here-I have known the "...wish for a moment to last an ternity" This, for me, is a joyful celebration of the present moment, what Eckhart Tolle catts "The power of Now" Great writing

I love the way you write poems. Simply and emotive at the same time.
You make me think.

Thank you, I really appreciate it
The fear of death soften by this poem. The loneliness accompanied by silence. The softness of this poem brings peace to my soul. Good work.
