I found you today

This is just something I wrote when I couldn't move on. I tried to but I was just stuck in this one state. I know it's not the best but I really like it and wanted to share it with you guys.

I found you today 

I find you most days but today was different 

I found you today, over and over 

First, I found you in a book 

I was so happy to find you 

You were the main character 

Then I found you in my cup of tea 

The taste of it would stick to your beard 

I smiled into the steam 

I found you in the street 

I could have sworn I saw us in the flower shop 

I exhaled sharply 

This time I found you on my couch 

I look over to your side and there you were

I look away without a second thought 

Next, I found you in my cigarette 

Yes, it tasted of your kisses 

I gave up smoking this afternoon 

After that, I found you in everything around me

I feel the familiarity of your arms pull me in

I miss it but this is hell 

I find you every day and it's exhausting 

You are taking over every aspect of my life 

Without being here at all 

I find you in my empty bed 

You breath is hot on my neck 

I close my eyes and wait for it to pass

Oh! Very poignant poem. I can't relate, yet I feel the narrator's yearning and emotional exhaustion. I loved the start, it was original. I would've liked that style to be continued throughout, though.
