Stolen from the Wind

Stolen from the Wind

A Poem by Brinja Keelake

Your eyes glisten
As you breathe fast

Calming your racing heart.

Your hair,

Wild as weeds,

Grows longer before me.

Your smile spreads across your face,

Wide as a canyon,

And sweet as a flowers' scent.

Your arms reach out,

Becoming your bridge,

But never long enough

As your body keeps moving

And everything fades

As I'm reminded

That you were only stolen from the wind.
