Chapter 30

Chapter 30

A Chapter by Brina

Felipe’s POV

When I finally made it to bed, Mike and Liz were already fast asleep. It was about two o’clock in the morning"Kurt and I had been playing on his Xbox longer than we’d thought. I tiptoed over to Liz’s sleeping form and kissed her forehead gently. She opened her eyes as I pulled away. “Don’t stop,” she whined. I smirked and kissed her lips lightly before going back to my bed.

“Felipe?” she murmured. I arched an eyebrow. “What are we going to do tomorrow?”

“I don’t know,” I said. “Probably sleep.”

“What about school, though?”

“Oh, right. School. Damn.” I thought for a second. “Jace still isn’t back with your uniform. And we still have to get you some books.”

We sat in silence for a few minutes.

“It,” I said finally, “is two in the morning. You need to go to sleep.”

“M’kay,” she sighed.

“Goodnight.”

“’Night.”

The night passed quickly, and before I knew it morning had arrived. Liz was still asleep when I woke up, so I left the room quietly to let her sleep. Kurt and I had some unfinished business to attend to that involved the couch and his Xbox.

“. . . don’t care what ‘Mr. Grant’ says, she’s not wearing that!” Mike was yelling at Jace when I got downstairs. It was weird, hearing him yell so much. Usually, Mike was the one cracking up while Jace got yelled at.

“What’s going on?” I whispered to Iven.

“Uniform crisis,” Iven answered, grinning. “Apparently, the girl’s uniforms only come in one size . . . extra, extra, extra small.”

The uniforms at the school were identical: white collared shirt, navy blue blazer, long navy blue pants, navy blue tie. Pretty simple. It wasn’t a big issue"until now.

“And I’m telling you, Mikey, this is the only uniform they had!”

“Personally, I hope Jace wins this one,” Iven said with a sly grin. “I’d give anything to see her in that number.”

I pushed forward to see the “number” and gasped. There was a navy blue tie. There was a navy blue blazer.

There was a short, tight baby-tee shirt that probably didn’t reach Liz’s bellybutton. There was a navy blue miniskirt that would have been small on a doll. There was a pair of navy blue five-inch platform heels.

I stepped forward. “No way, man,” I told Jace. “Let her borrow one of my uniforms. She’s not going out there dressed like a s**t.”

“Not a s**t,” Jace argued. “She’d only look like a s**t if I made her wear these.” He held out a pair of sparkly hoop earrings the size of bracelets.

“No, Jace,” I insisted, grinding my teeth.

“Seriously, guys, Mr. Grant said this was the only girl uniform they had!”

“Wait a sec,” Kurt said slowly. “I think the real reason he wants her to wear that outfit is because it’s so revealing!”

“Kurt, man,” Iven said, “no offense, but you’re really stupid in the morning.”

“And in the afternoon,” Jace added. If it had been me, I would’ve attacked them, but Kurt just threw back his head and laughed.

“What’s so funny?” Liz asked, coming down the stairs. Her hair was sticking up every which way, but her eyes were bright and shiny.

“Nothing,” I said quickly.

Her eyes narrowed as they focused in on the outfit in Jace’s hands. “Yeah, right!” she said. “There is no way in Hell I’m wearing that to a school with bloodthirsty, women-deprived vampires!”

“Guess again,” Jace said, leering.

Wild fury overtook her for a few seconds, and then suddenly she became perfectly calm. “Fine,” she said coolly.

Jace did a double take. “Fine?” he repeated.

“Yes. Fine. I know if I argue, you’ll win and I’ll have to wear the stupid uniform. Or if you lose, you’ll come up with something else that’ll get on my nerves. So I’mending it before it starts.” She took the uniform out of Jace’s hands and stomped upstairs.

All was perfectly silent for one, two, three seconds. Then, exactly at the same time, we all started laughing uproariously. Jace rolled his eyes and left the house.

Liz’s POV

I was so passed arguing, and was so tired, and overwhelmed by what would happen, that I just agreed, like I said no point in fighting.

I reached the bathroom on the second floor, and walked in closing and locking the door behind me. I tried miserably to put on the skimpy clothes the likes of which I would never have warn, though had once been forced to wear a French Maid costume similar, due to Steve.

I finally finished dressing, and walked out, lucky me (note the sarcasm), all the guys had decided to go upstairs and ‘check on me’ or spy, but whatever.

“Do you have a staring problem?” I asked on impulse, beginning to get pissed off, but trying to calm down, and figure out a way to escape their watchful eyes, to grant my friends their safety.

Mike growled, “Everyone, let’s go, Jace give Liz her schedule.”

Jace handed me my schedule, and I scared frightfully at it.

(BTW IDK if colleges have block scheduling but this one does)Form 3 Liz’s Schedule:

Day A

1st: Spanish 4, Room 701

2nd: Art 3D, Room 645

Lunch

3rd: Statistics, Room 531

4th: AP Psychology, Room 703

Day B

1st: Organic Chemistry, Room 561

2nd: Study Hall, Room 000

Lunch

3rd: Lacrosse, Volleyball, Cheer, Color Guard,

Or Dance Line report to locker room.

4th: Human Geography

I read through it twice more, “What about Calculus, and Biology?” I asked scared to death, “Why not something easy?”

Kurt took the paper out my hands, “Dude she’s in Organic Chemistry, that’s a grad school class! She must be SMART!”

I guess it didn’t really matter anyways, because I would be gone by tomorrow, but still.

“Okay let’s go, it won’t kill me,” I said, attempting to grab my schedule from Kurt, but failed, Felipe finally taking pity on me grabbed it from him, and handed it to me, “oh, and is today an A or B day, and anything I need to know?”

Surprisingly dumbass Jace answered, “We don’t have school on Wednesday, though that’s different for some people, but you have a form three, so no school Wednesdays, but Iven, and Mike, don’t have school Tuesdays, also today is day A, but that’s about everything important.”

“Oh, okay, cool, I guess, do I need um like a pencil, or maybe some type of materials?”

“Uh, Felipe?”

“I’ll go grab some; all you need for today is, an agenda, a notebook, and some pencils,”

“Okay,”

Felipe ran off.

“So do I have any classes with anyone?”

“Kurt has Human Communications with you, and Mike has Organic Chemistry with you, but all the teachers love Mike, since they don’t know about his damn gift.” Iven said, “But that’s everything I think.”

“Oh, okay,”

Felipe was already back and handed me my supplies, I murmured a small thanks, and then we were off, for my first day of college even though I was still a Junior in Highschool.
