Chapter 9

I walked through the humongous door, to see a man who looked to be in his early thirties, behind a desk and Jace sitting in front of him, looking perturbed, and conversing with the man.

 

I took a seat next to Jace.

 

“Hello Liz,” the man said startling me a bit, “what a pleasure to meet you.”

 

I tried to hide a grimace with a smile. “Um yeah, an uh, pleasure.”

 

Jace threw a dirty look at me. “Mr. Grant, will she be able to stay in the dorm I asked about?”

 

Mr. Grant (or the man), nodded slowly, “Liz, how old are you?”

 

“Uh, sixteen, why?”

 

“Because this a college, and I need to know which classes I should put you in, what math class were you in, and which science?”

 

“Biology and calculus,” I responded.

 

“Oh so you were in advanced classes, for your age.”

 

I gave a quick nod.

 

“Well, I can place you in those classes here, and I will attempt to get you a uniform, but for the time being you will find a selection of clothes already on there way to your closet, in the dorm you will be staying in.”

 

“Who’s my roommate going to be?”

 

“They will tell you, when Jace takes you to your room, okay?”

 

I nodded again this time slowly.

 

“Well, your schedule will be sent up later, and if there are no questions, then I shall see you later.”

 

Um, actually there were A LOT of questions, like how the hell am I supposed to live with a vampire, let alone more than one, and then how in the frickin world am I supposed to go to school, and do the vampires that go to school here, know that I don’t want my blood sucked dry? I was freaking out and I felt like I was going to have a panic attack.

 

That’s when someone started knocking on the door, Jace swiftly ran (like I didn’t see him move) to open it, it was Mike, giving me a worried glance.

 

Okay I guess the mind reading thing, could come in handy, maybe. I gave him an appreciative smile.

 

“Well” Mr. Grant started “we shall speak later, and I will want to hear from you at the end of the week. Please take Liz to her room.”

 

“Sure,” Mike said “come on Liz, let’s go.”

 

I got out of the chair, and followed Jace and Mike, Felipe soon joining our side, as he did, Mike let Jace walk in front of us and took a position on one side of me Felipe on the other, again. Well it was time to see where I was going to live for the time being.
