Chapter 5

I was squished, and Reed was speeding, like A LOT. Mike and Felipe, were both looking at me with new eyes, like lusty new eyes. Damn, not again. I mean sure Mike was hot with his strawberry blond hair and baby blue eyes and perfectly toned tanned body. And Felipe was dead SEXY with his black hair and died blue tips pale skin and muscled body. Even Jace I would totally dead with his brown hair and purple-ish red eyes, and again with the muscles, are they all body builders?

 

Oh yeah, that’s right, vampires, well then how come Mike is tan?

 

“Because vampire myth’s aren’t all true,” Mike said, answering my thoughts, startling almost everybody in this over packed car. “Yes it is a bit stuffed isn’t it, and I do read minds, not thoughts, as your subconscious is already beginning to wonder, and yes I know about your step-bother which I am very sorry about, and your dad seems familiar, what was his name, oh ahhh yes interesting.”

 

Wow I felt like someone had pulled a rug from out under my feet, no ONE except Andy my mom and my brother himself new about my family ‘problems’. All the vamps seemed to be staring at me curiously, I guess they didn’t all have that special, uh gift.

 

Mike snorted “No I’m not the only ‘gifted’ one though, and I suggest you don’t get on Jace’s bad side, and yes your subconscious was thinking about it though you may not know that, and no I do not like hearing my own voice, and occasionally I do shut up, we use our first names because it doesn’t matter, e=mc�™, and no I can’t telling you where we are going. Anything else? How rude!”

 

He said ‘How rude’ because I called him a smart a*s in my mind.

 

There were a few laughs, namely from the front seat of the car.

 

I was pretty bored, worried, and anxious…. A nap may not be too bad; I mean they won’t try anything right? I could of never done this at home, what with Steve. I always slept behind a closed locked door, with bars on the window

 

I closed my eyes, leaned my head on Felipe’s shoulder (clearly shocking him) and fell asleep.

 

 

Mike’s POV

 

 

“She fell asleep. Dude why did we have to take her?” I asked Reed already hearing the answer in Jace’s, and Reed’s minds.

 

“Because she knew too much.” They said in unison.

 

“Yeah, but why did you pick her to be a hostage, her life is already crappy, enough.”

 

“I already told you, she was being all heroic with this girl, so I just grabbed her instead.” Jace replied, “By the way what is it with her brother, and dad, and what happened to her face?”

 

“Her dad is THE Kadin Magykan” I said watching the shocked faces.

 

“What you mean my friend Kadin?” Reed asked, “My pronounced leader, who has more control over us except for me and Jace?” Reed said, because he was vampire king, Jace prince, and Kadin the mayor of sorts.

 

I nodded slowly.

 

“What about the bruise, and her brother?” Jace asked who had problems when siblings weren’t protective of each other, he was NOT going to like this.

 

“Umm there connected.”

 

Everyone gasped, Jace growled “How?!” He asked angrily through clenched teeth.

 

“Her brother is apparently not a sibling like brother, and they ARE step siblings, but the s**t she has been put through, let’s just say nothing can compare.”

 

Jace continued growling, until his dad forced him to stop.

 

Jace turned around in his seat, giving me a look that clearly said the rest of her gruesome tale WOULD be told, then turned back around, and asked Reed, “Have we lost the cops yet?”

 

Reed nodded, “Open up the portal, Tom.”

 

And the portal was opened, as our car drove into Hell.
