BetrayalA Poem by BrinaMarieNot sure where or when I wrote this. I just found it and thought I'd upload it here.
The whoosh of the wind rushing out of my lungs.
The trickling of the tears cascading down my cheeks.
The sound of my fragile heart, shattering, into a thousand pieces at your feet. For you were the one who dropped it. On purpose. Knowing full well it wasn't going to stay whole. Knowing it would break, never to be put back in perfect working order again. There will always be that little piece missing which rolled under the couch. The couch where we spent hours talking, giving, telling each other our secretes. Then you just left me lying in a dark corner. Left me to rot. As if i was a note book. And I was used, then thrown out when my purpose has been fulfilled. © 2013 BrinaMarie |
