Dead Before I Die

Dead Before I Die

A Poem by BrimAtMed

Some days I just don’t care and can’t muster up a try

Some days I’m giving in and I just want a good cry

I am the unwritten

the forgotten

and unmade

I am soft spoken

the pardoned

the dismayed

There are the spirits of the living and the dead

Soulful they wander when there is nothing left but dread

I am the ghostly one

the headless with a head

I am the phantom son

of a father who has pled

For normality.

For civility.

Practicality.

But I’ve got nothing left to give
