A Poem by Alyssa

You're sitting in his car
It's a little bit too cold
It's a little bit too dark
And you want to go home
But he is saying such nice things
Like only you two in the world
Saying all the right things
To the very wrong girl
You tell him maybe someday
He says he wants it now
And you want to tell him no
But you really don't know how
You look around for safety
Like Superman is on the way
But only you two in the world
What else can you say
So you just say the word
You just tell the boy no
Tell him that you're tired
Ask him to drive you home
He punches the steering wheel
And you kind of want to run
So you hope your gut is right
But maybe he's the one
You think maybe your the wrong one
Maybe you're the one to blame
But you still don't feel quite ready
Why won't he feel the same?
He kisses you on your neck
While you wait for passing time
You tell him you should slow down
But he tells you that you're fine
Slow
Time
Slow
Breaths
Slow
Thoughts
Slow
You're sitting in his car
You just want to be alone
But the musics on too loud
When he stops to drive you home
Now he is saying such nice things
Like only you two in the world
Saying all the right things
To the very wrong girl
