The Strike

The Strike

A Poem by Brighid an Lasair
"

New piece, still rough, may be edited.

"

Blazing embers spark

Igniting the fire

Now glowing, radiating

Deep within the earthen chasms

Of your warm soothing eyes

And I am lost--

Shared visions, dreams

Fingers flirting with my features-

The gentle caress

Of lips meeting flesh

Under the watchful eye

Of a midnight Autumn sky--

We are lost among the stars-

Chasing constellations

Carefully crafted

In the epic battle

Between earth and ice

As our irises collide--

Electricity races around us

Coursing through our figures

Charging through our frames

And there’s a flash of light

As the current passes between us--

Lightning has struck

I feel in love with my man while living on a ridge where lightning strike were commonplace. Your words took me back to that place. What a wonderful gift we have been given, to be able to direct another person's thoughts to a past memory.

You have that gift. Always remember that it is a powerful gift. For, alas, if used wrongly, it can devastate a soul.

However, that is not the case in this instance. Your poem is very well written and leads the readers mind to seeing the first incredible flash of love.
