Many have assumed that this piece is about suicide mistakenly, it truly is about leaps of faith and new beginnings.
I’m at the edge and looking down-
It’s a long fall"
Ending with a hard landing-
Should these wings fail me-
I take two steps back-
Beg the fates to be on my side-
Run forward, and dive-
Headfirst"
Into the great unknown-
Momentarily-
I find myself caught in a free fall-
Holding onto my breath-
As I begin to feel abandoned-
In my great leap of faith-
Yet, as I begin to prepare-
For the impact of my abrupt landing-
I exhale, close my eyes"
Feeling the world pass me by-
I think of the things I could have done-
If only I had more time-
But with only seconds remaining-
Before my impending impact-
I feel the air catch in my wings-
And I fly alongside the fates-
Soaring to new, unimagined heights-
And I realize-
Nothing is really over-
I’m just finally taking flight-
This my style of writing. What I take from this is the quest for hope, something that ressembles Dante's Inferno. I might be way off but that is my take. Love the way your poem flows and brings the reader on the journey. Great job.
