Conversing with the Breeze.A Poem by Brighid an LasairOlder piece from about 2005.From the highest rooftop gracing
the skyline of Boston, I gazed off into the depths of
space- Searching for something- Finding nothing- At the same time, I didn't know what I was looking
for- This rooftop ledge had become
safe- It was my sanctuary- The place where my feet could
fly- As I dangled them over the edge- Of this peaceful sky scraper. And from the streets came the
breeze- Running swiftly behind my knees- Sending chills up my spine- As I watch newspapers fly- Up to greet me- Among a whirlwind- Of discarded city debris- I take to my feet- Allowing my knees to bid
farewell- To their beloved breeze- Knowing there will be other
nights- Much like this- Where they will converse- And send chills up my spine
again- As I stare out into space. © 2010 Brighid an LasairFeatured Review
