A Heart Buried in WarA Poem by BrieWhen you put your heart in a battle for love, and you lose the whole warI had you, had you in the grip of my hands Gripping you deeper and deeper into me Without letting a piece of you free I stalked you down, watching your every moves Waiting for your love, your heart to bloom I gave everything up, not surrendering But giving in, making you want my heart Yet, I was clueless, not looking directly in the smoke While I was waiting for you to be mine, You already decided our fate Our fate to not be in the same world How could I be so stupid? I gave you my heart, and everything else And the only thing you did was stomp on it Friendship is better you say, but we aren't friends We were friends in the whole war, but You betrayed me and became my enemy You destroyed my every moves and killed me Not in reality, but in my fantasy and my dreams So while I cry tears of sorrow, your love is still alive And mine's killed in action, lying on the cold ground Buried with the other of the restless souls While you think of us as friends, I think of you as an uncompleted body Who's heart was burned in the living hell And ashes folded inside of you For you won't let love settle inside of you And let me die alone without a breath of love
