Unhealthy

Unhealthy

A Poem by Brielle Cartny

Skinny,bony, gap between the thighs
Said to once be perfect in all of man's eyes

Purging, fasting, exercise
Disappointment, still not the perfect size

We are called big, obscene, or fat
while others shamed for not enough in the back

Take the pill to destroy the hate
or down the drain for a faster rate

What they seek is what's in her
but now the skinny one seeks a cure

Chicken legs and childish hips
laughed at, in-properly equipped

Enhanced her look, but she knew she shouldn't
but couldn't take not being called a Woman

Same Woman all throwing stones
some saying fat is bad or only monsters go for bones

Can't we all just love what we have
Beauty is always changing, with new fads

Just be you, eat right, be moderate
then maybe the beautiful ones will model it

About
I am heavily influenced by music all around me. There is hardly ever a piece I write that is not composed with a song that has been stuck in my head. Recently my favourites have been Haste the Day, .. more..
