Path of Discovery

Path of Discovery

A Poem by Briege Havern

Like the birds in the sky I craved to fly free,

From the shackles and chains I wanted to flee,

Worn out by how cruel the world could be,

It was time to change my reality.

So I sat quietly to hear my soul’s plea,

To find out what would fill my heart with glee,

My eyes were opened on the path of discovery

The important things in life can’t be bought with money.

Now I have changed but I am still me,

Came through the darkness now I can see

To unlock happiness and joy for eternity,

Love and kindness are the key.

beautifully crafted piece, especially considering every line ends in the E sound.
Softly haunting, your words strive for a place to land, on the sheer cliff face that we call life.
Thank you for sharing. I really enjoyed this.
