Facetime

Facetime

A Poem by Brie D
"

Fake love? can you find love online?

"
All I want is a real connection
and not one determined by my internet connection

How can two people feel this way,
without the touch of their skin?

Isn't a kiss the magic that makes you realise,
realise you have found the one?
you can't kiss over facetime.

Being in love means experiencing the vulnerability of each other
a physical and mental occurrence that drifts from time to time
and can't be interrupted with the press of an end call button

On a real date you have the luxury of experiencing the same moments
Burying myself in your neck, being able to smell your cologne, my fragile hands gliding against your rough skin

Oh how all I wish is to be surrounded by the person who lives 19 hours away
the real connection that I desire will never be my reality.

So why do I feel this way?

A passage telling of todays times. Your question at the end cannot be answered simply but I bet many people ask themselves the same thing. This is modern and relatable, great job!!
