UntitledA Poem by Bridget McJaneBroke free of a toxic friendship after eight years of tortureI have people who back me up I am not alone anymore. I have a force of power That will out shine you. A hand reaches and pulls me out. Enemies now friends I hold them dear and close I pull together The stringed daggers rip me apart Slowly, I heal. Laying down, they lie with me As I rise my heart and mind begin anew I wont push you down but walk past you You are slipping, your touch is weak Repulsive. You have lost your hold Friends? When? I am free and you are alone. © 2022 Bridget McJane |
