Velvet Hue

Velvet Hue

A Poem by Bridget McJane

When my heart was pierced, it bled a dark red

Falling to the glass before me, it became tinted in a velvet hue

My body feels cold and limp

Eyes frozen in time, as a statue I stand

Mirrors crash as my reflection passes over

My eyes covered in red

I cannot see
