Adrenaline

Adrenaline

A Poem by Brid
"

i've been listening to a lot of florence + the machine lately...

"
You cannot sleep,
and you cannot wake
the pressure in your veins is astounding

Before dawn breaks
you have to cut through
end the aching, end the wanting

The echo of drumbeats in
your templed mind
as they make contact with your skull
say this fabled loss of reality
never lets your senses dull

Is it terror,
Is it tripping highs?
Your body is stronger than your mind

The room responds with roaring,
so the adrenaline completes your story
