I wasn't going for correct poetry style or formation or anything really .... I basically had a thought about my long lost friend Trish who seems completly different than the intelligent college student chemist that I have known for years..... thats her picture ..... totally different than the real her!!

i really liked this piece. i know you said you weren't going for correct form or whatever, but a simply fix could be :

"Pretending to be something
You're not; isn't that
What you are good at?"

There you go hehe that didn't hurt that much, i don't think. :) i loved the simplicity of this. i dont know, even though you're saying an oft-repeated statement, i just really love the format and the way you said it.
