Carrion Plain

Carrion Plain

A Poem by The Ponderings of Bella

Such is a place of remembrance, of heartbreak, and demise,
Riddled with stone, blanketed with cries.
Stone of marble, etched with identity,
Corpses below a false serenity.

A place of tragedies, once-malignant disease,
Bringing the death, souls now at ease.
The ultimate bed of sediment and soil,
Under a land festering with toil.

Achromatic thoughts torturing the souls,
Of loved ones abandoned above their holes.
Holes as portals to an enigmatic world,
To only those freed is the secret unfurled.

Those in existence awaiting their fate,
Blight handed to them on a silver plate.
Viewing such morbidity with none other than disdain,
Awaiting their addition to the carrion plain.
