ChildA Poem by The Ponderings of Bellaovercoming hardships
What child is this
That hums and sings
An eerie tune with a morbid ring
What child is this
That screams and cries
And reaches for the greyest skies
What child is this
That hopes for eve
To gaze upon the stormy seas
What child is this
That runs from me
And hopes for fleeting memories
What child is this
With green-blue eyes
That holds her teddy bear and cries
What child is this
This scared little thing
That doesn’t wish for a prince or king
What child is this
That walks alone
Not bothered by blood nor shattered bone
What child is this
Who has grown strong and tall
And who shall persevere in spite of it all © 2008 The Ponderings of Bella |
