My shining star

My shining star

A Poem by Brianna
"

Another about my ex. Don't worry, I'm not suicidal or anything just needed a way to end the poem. LOL! I'm over him though but it was a good excuse to write another poem.

"
I have been a little upset
You crushed my dreams, made me forget
About all the joys that life may bring
In summer, winter, fall, or spring
I loved you with all my soul
You were the one that made me whole
Me meeting you
Was a dream come true
I fell for the lie that you thought this too
But I was the only one that had thought this through
"I love you so much" is what you said
And then these thoughts raced through my head
"I love him more" is what I thought
While he thought for sure he had me bought
For a long time he sure did
Until I discovered what he had hid
His virginity was lost but not to me
Through his lies I sure did see
Forgiveness though is what I chose
For you'll find thorns on every rose
This thorn though, tore my skin
Not on the surface but within.
I patched the wound but there's a scar
And then he said goodbye
I have lost my shining star
So now I wish to die.

My favorite lines were 'For you'll find thorns on every rose' and 'not on the surface but within' Nicely written. Good job.
