Attempted Suicide

Attempted Suicide

A Poem by OutSpoken

She's too quiet for a pretty girl
Too young to be fed up of this cruel world
I've seen a lot is written in her eyes
Help me carved across her wrist and thighs
She doesn't even wear a disguise
If they look closer they'll realise
She's lost within her mind
Instead they say
She's the type of girl a man wants
Still she's alone every passing night and day
She laughs with everyone
When she's hurting inside
Hiding it all behind a perfect smile
She wants to escape reality
She wants to be free
So she closes her eyes and disappears inside
Slowly fading, slowly dying
Inside of her mind she's free to be whoever she wants to be
Without the taunting of society
She can spread her wings and soar in glee
She can fly away from the burdens
That have grounded and dug the pit
That she finds herself in
But its hidden in her eyes
And all the scars on her wrists
Are screaming "Attempted Suicide"
She really wants to give up on life
Yet she still wants to continue trying
If only she had the faith to believe in herself
The way she believes in humanity
Maybe she could be saved

Very Beautiful. Revealing and giving insight to perceptions. The lack of human connection keeps people at bay from one another so we assume and never seek.

Powerful. I like how you show the stark contrast between how others see her, and how she sees herself. Very moving.
