A Prison of SilenceA Poem by Brianna BrieI just cannot bring myself to share, to care. There is a beaver’s damn inside that keeps All wordy passions from flowing out everywhere.A Prison of Silence I lost my voice in a terrifying nightmare Screams deep and throaty catches and dissipates Running still, open mouth without sound anywhere. All these thoughts and ideas jumble up In mass confusion; and left unsaid frustrates Into a heap of discarded puzzle pieces piled up. I lost my voice believing a pathetic lie. All that spills out is worthless, or better off unspoken Then to fall upon indifferent ears only to disqualify. I just cannot bring myself to share, to care. There is a beaver’s damn inside that keeps All wordy passions from flowing out everywhere. I lost my voice in the valley of apathy. An abundance of unformed words Canyon deep Wandering in a passive symphony. Copyrights Reserved by Brianna Brie October, 21, 2022 © 2022 Brianna BrieFeatured Review
