Unrequited Love

Unrequited Love

A Poem by Brianna Brie
"

Our choices are ours to pursue

"

Unrequited Love

Demonic Entities do not love,

Seizing every opportunity to

See us beaten, bloodied and bound

Why levitate towards sin, demise assures thereof?

Entangling with devil’s horns: therefor, death ensues

Encircling ravens black, elicits an eternal sound

Fatally wicked or Innocent as a white dove

Our choices are ours to pursue;

indebted to a consequential battleground

Real love comes from the father above

With Grace and mercy, He looks upon you

As kings and priests crowned

Some dark imagery in this one. We are advised that "Demonic Entities" do not love, and that to gravitate toward them means death. Verse three makes an important point. We have a choice. People who experience multiple toxic relationships are not victims. In some way, they are contributing to them.

Yes, choices are powerful. Our choices always have consequences good or bad. Thanks for reviewing.

Is there good or evil or does thinking make it so. Nice thought provoking work.

Jesus calls him the father of lies .. and is able to do nothing but lie .. if we gravitate his way .. he will assuredly put fuel to the fires ... but he is inconsequential tho our choice have consequences .. lots of thought provoking lines says i! straight forward truths of God ... the One ... the Only ;) in V2 L1 .. i would place the "?" after "....sin..." not at the end of the line ... an inconsequential thing ... probably just me eh!? ... opening line is so powerful and dramatic for me ... they most certainly do NOT love .. at all .. they can not. thanks for sharing your poetry and Faith

Unrequited love is love that is not entirely reciprocated by the beloved, love that is one-sided.
It took me a few minutes of head-scratching to understand, but I’ve come to interpret the poem as God trying to wrap people in His loving embrace, though people don’t fully comprehend this passion that He holds, so instead they choose to live a life of sin.
There are lots of very dark and bleak words in here (“bloodied”, “demise”, “death”), all of which are stark contrast to the warmth and love that God provides.
Overall, I really enjoyed the bit of challenge this brought to my reading comprehension skills, so it gets a thumbs up from me!

Thiis poem is so well crafted in its
vivid descriptives of good and evil
The devil is always tempting us
but we have free will to choose
the right path...nice work

Yes, our choices. And it would behoove us not to just be good because we are scared of the wrath of God, but that we choose because we want to be good to our fellow man...
The darker imagery really drives home the point.
Powerful.
