the signs of jesus

a woman approached me

in the parking lot today

she held a handwritten sign

it read:

 

"please help

i have 2 children

need money

in the name of jesus"

 

and i couldn't help but think

what a crock of s**t

not her of course but jesus

what a fake he turned out to be

 

truth be told it might as well read:

"in the name of zues"

or some other mythological figure

for all it is worth

 

no water into wine

no feeding the multitudes

no healing the paralyzed

no stilling raging waters

 

like the one she held

these are the true signs of jesus
