Reflections In Ink

Reflections In Ink

A Poem by Brian K. Walters
"

This is my personal decription of a writer and why we write. I believe every one of us on this site no matter what genre we prefer, can relate to this.

"
Reflections In Ink

Sailing away into my soul
the outside world fades to gray
I need not search for words
only to ride my emotions like the wind
here, I am free to face the truth

I am who I am
unchained by distractions
my spirit bathes in peace
my thoughts flow into ink
as the real me is unveiled

I do not write for others
only to discover who I am
my soul is my tapestry
the final results are simply
reflections in ink

You know those scribbles you make when you check to see if your pen still writes? Well thats about all I can come up with when it comes to writing anything lately, if I could just put scribbling into words It'd be a perfect reflection of what my mind has offered me. lol~

But in any case, I'm thrilled to see you writing again...as beautiful as before... It's like you've never missed a beat.
You're a breath of fresh air, Brian. Keep 'em comin' ; )

Words come to some as breath does to others. Who said that? I dunno. I think they meant you. Very nice.

"I do not write for others only to discover who I am" These two lines speak for many writers that keep writing without gaining fame or wealth. What else drives those that do not quit but self discovery or a release from some darkness?

This is a great poem:). This stanza is so true:

I do not write for others
only to discover who I am
my soul is my tapestry
the final results are simply
reflections in ink

That's exactly why I write, to explore another side of myself,
and sometimes, that surprises me. AD
